I started my career in improv in New Jersey. My work has expanded in scope but those improv principles always apply. You have to be open and ready for anything.
The principle rool of performance improv is "Yes And". If a scene partner offers you a line, you respond in the affirmative - and add to the dialouge. If someone tells you that your car has a flat tire, let them know how you got it. It's a spontaneous act of art.
